Duponol Instructions

  • Allow your instrument to dry thoroughly, ideally overnight.

  • As you're working, avoid touching the labium (2) with your fingers. When it's damp it can warp easily, spoiling the instrument.

  • Hold the head joint pointing down over a sink and cover the opening of the windway (1) with your finger.

  • Put a few drops of Duponol into the window (3) until the cedar block is covered.

  • Let the liquid sit for about a minute. Then remove your finger and let the excess liquid drain.

  • Blow out excess liquid by covering the bottom of the head joint (5) and blowing sharply into the window (3). The excess liquid should come out of the windway (1) at the top of the head joint.
